Bruno KERGUEN, Ambassador of the Sovereign Order of Malta to the Republic of Benin
Born on May 5, 1959, in Vannes, France, Bruno Kerguen is a seasoned professional with over three decades of international executive experience across Africa, the Caribbean, and Europe. A graduate of ESIAE (1981), he has combined a strong private sector background with a deep commitment to humanitarian work.
Since 2016, Mr. Kerguen has been actively engaged with the Ordre de Malte France through the Malte Vendée Association. In 2021, he was appointed Departmental Delegate of Ordre de Malte France for the Vendée region, leading a network of nearly 100 volunteers and coordinating numerous initiatives in support of the poor and the sick.
Mr. Kerguen is also co-founder and President of Cotona Bay, a company active in the textile sector. Previously, he held key leadership positions in major industrial groups, including the Castel Group, where he served as CEO in Guinea, Togo, and Benin, overseeing production units, logistics, marketing, and sales operations.
Earlier in his career, he spent nearly 20 years with the Total Group, managing LPG operations across Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and the Caribbean. His assignments included strategic development, marketing leadership, and extensive expatriate missions in countries such as Chad, Gabon, and Togo.
Beyond his professional roles, Mr. Kerguen has been involved in multiple public and private initiatives: serving as French Foreign Trade Advisor for the Pays de la Loire region, Vice President of MEDEF Togo, President of the Lycée Français de Lomé board, and active participant in various humanitarian and social programs of the Order of Malta.
In 2024, he presented the credentials as the new Ambassador of the Order of Malta to the Republic of Benin.
His diplomatic mission to Benin is built upon a deep understanding of the country, a long-standing presence in West Africa, and a dedication to bridging humanitarian service with institutional diplomacy.
